8 FLORIDA GYMNASTICS 2018 MEDIA SUPPLEMENT ASSISTANT COACHES Owen Field is in his third season with the Gator in 2017-18. His responsibilities include coaching the Gator uneven bar performers, sharing the team’s conditioning coach duties and overseeing team equipment needs and maintenance. Field’s Coaching Career: At Florida: A Gator shared the last two NCAA uneven bars titles – Bridget Sloan (2016) and Alex McMcMurtry (2017). The Gators’ uneven bars lineup was among the nation’s top four rankings throughout the 2016 and 2017 seasons. McMurtry was the nation’s only gymnast to turn in multiple 10.0 bars marks in 2016 and she added two more in 2017 – including in the NCAA Super Six team final. Three Gators collected four All-America honors on the event in the last two NCAA Championships. Field shared the 2016 and 2017 NACGC Southeast Region Coach of the Year honor with Adrian Burde. At Nebraska: Before joining Florida, Field was with the University of Nebraska women’s gymnastics program, serving roles as manager or volunteer coach during his six years with the Huskers. When he was a volunteer coach, Field worked alongside head coach Dan Kendig to coach the Huskers’ on uneven bars. He also assisted with the Huskers’ strength and conditioning program. While Field was with Nebraska, the Huskers advanced to the NCAA Championships four times (2015, 2014, 2012, 2010), reaching the Super Six in 2014. Nebraska gymnastics picked up a total of 12 All-America honors in either uneven bars or all-around while Field was with the Huskers. A Husker won conference bars titles in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Field also served as Southern Utah’s volunteer coach for the 2011 season. Field was the club coach at UNL, the Nebraska School of Gymnastics, and was a coach at the Southern Utah Gymnastics Academy. Field has coached at several gymnastics camps, including Lake Owen Gymnastics Camp, Flipfest and Woodward Gymnastics Camp. Personal: Field received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Nebraska in 2015. He was born in Sheboygan, Wis., on July 11, 1990. OWEN FIELD ASS I STANT COACH Jeremy Miranda VOLUNTEER COACH Volunteer Assistant Coach Jeremy Miranda provides his innovative and artistic touch to the Gator gymnastics routines again for the 2018 season. Entering his 11th season, Miranda oversees all creative aspects musically and choreographically for the Gator floor routines. His 10 years at Florida have included 10 NCAA Championship appearances, three NCAA Super Six team titles, 33 All-America honors earned in NCAA Championships’ floor competition (including the 2015 NCAA champion), eight Southeastern Conference floor champions, 15 NCAA Regional floor champions, and 134 regular season floor titles. Also, the Gator’s floor routine rotation at the 2014 NCAA Championships currently holds the highest team floor score ever posted in NCAA Championship history at 49.725. Prior to joining the Gator program in the summer of 2007, Miranda worked with the University of Nebraska women’s gymnastics team for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. His choreography and assistance to the coaching staff helped the Huskers to the Super Six Championship both seasons. In addition, Miranda also served as club coach for the Nebraska School of Gymnastics from 2005-07, coaching classes ranging from preschool to elite. Miranda spent several summers as master staff instructor at the world-renowned Woodward Gymnastics Camp in Woodward, Pennsylvania, and additionally has served on the coaching staff at multiple summer camps and clinics across the country. A notable gymnast in his own right, Miranda was a level 10 gymnast who culminated his gymnastics career with a co-national championship finish on the floor exercise at the 2005 Junior Olympic National Championship, as well as an eighth- place finish on the vault. A native of Chamberlain, South Dakota, Miranda graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida, receiving a bachelor of fine arts degree in dance performance during the summer of 2010. He currently dances and choreographs professionally in New York City and has appeared in many live stage productions such as Hello Dolly!, Cats, A Chorus Line, West Side Story and Mary Poppins as well as TV appearances on Orange is the New Black, The Following, Law and Order SVU, The Blacklist and SMASH.
